I've scared myself, by changing the way I ask for payment for my networking clubs this month. I've also asked for a bit more money as it costs to have the convenience of online booking. All clubs are now the same price as the most expensive to keep things simple. Is simple also fair? I then ask myself!
The next decision, after price, was timing. Should the change be made at a time when attendance is usually a bit lower - thus risking less people bothering to book or should it be done at a busy time? My instinct was to do it now when less people are around anyway and hope that the word spreads that the mechanism is not too onerous really!
We have often been told by our speakers in the clubs that change is automatically resisted by ourselves and others. I have certainly not found this easy myself and am wondering how club members have found it.
So should we change when life is usually quieter or just make a business decision that this is what needs to be done and get on with it regardless of timing? Are there ways to reduce resistance to change? Comments would be very much appreciated.
