The Community Involvement Award

This Award will recognise outstanding community involvement.
Submissions are invited for a business who can demonstrate aspects of the following criteria:-

 
•    Provision of support/value added to their local community by way of eg.services provided/moneyraised/jobs created/innovative flexible approach to maintaining workers during economic downturn.

 
•    Ongoing role in the leadership/governance of local community groups/schools/charities.

 
•    Taken part in a community project which has had significant positive impact.

 
During 2008/9 Nat West (part of the RBS Group) has, for example, invested £66.3 million in the communities in which we operate which involved 30,000 employees who donated skills,money and 194,271 staff hours to participate in charitable activities.
 
In addition employees donated £10.6m last year to over 3800 charities through our payroll Give As You Earn Scheme.
 
Going the extra mile and demonstrating community awareness and support whilst maintaining a successful business is challenging but extremely rewarding for all concerned.
